This is the first time I had Hainanese Chicken (hope my spelling’s right).

It tastes good. This was my first attempt in getting my body to accept chicken after a month on meat and veggies. Since this was a special vacation, I figured “why not?” and just take meds if it backfires. And it didn’t, thank goodness.

Singapore has a variety of smells, from curry to incense. Sometimes it mixes, making it hard to breathe, but most times, it is pleasant. I almost got lost a couple of times because some of the faces are the same, all smiling, chinky-eyed, fair, dark or mixed. This is the true definition of a “Melting Pot” Country.

But the architecture is something else. Buildings are not for show, no siree. They are functional, each designed to cool, segregate or collect rainfall for fresh water. Each curve and steel is carefully configured and you know they are built to last.

Singapore is what Manila could be, if we have a properly functioning government or more disciplined people.
