Dorigami

One of the Things I Want for Christmas…is the artbook of this man.
His Name is Satoshi Ohno (or in Kanji: 大野 智 Ono Satoshi), he is from this Japanese boy band called Arashi (translation: Storm) and not only he dances and sings well…he also paints and creates sculptures. He is the first in the Entertainment Agency he belongs to, to have an art exhibition.
So he is not just a pretty face. Underneath all that facade of a Music Idol, lies an artist within. Too bad he is strictly bounded by his entertainment agency, so he can’t do too much art exhibitions when he wants to. He had to undergo negotiations with his managers, bandmates, lawyers and the very president of the agency just to get his exhibition approved, and it took him at least almost 5 years to be granted permission, provided that it will not affect his performance with the group.

He is pretty lucky because he has supportive bandmates to begin with, and that the president saw this as an opportunity to open up another new venture to gain popularity and recognition for his agency, but he wasn’t too keen at the idea at first, because of the commitment he had to push back to make room for this artist’s “hobby”. So this Ohno guy had to work extra hard just for him to meet the demands and conditions he promised. All this for his passion.

If I can find this at Kinokuniya Bookstore in Singapore, then it will be money well spent.

yey.
