Wanna get rid corruption easy?
Obliterate the Pork Barrel.
Seriously, this is just asking for trouble. Its already been tried and tested that our local officials are just using it for their own gain. Taking that away would let them know their place that they are here to SERVE the country and NOT make the country SERVE FOR THEM.
Its already enough to see that they are going on and on with their fancy cars, several mistresses, fancy houses, their legal wives overpriced designer bags and trips abroad.
It is blatantly seen for all of us everyday tax payers, and we are not stupid. We know our rights and WE KNOW that its been taken away. And we WANT IT BACK.
The taxmoney is meant to be for the good of the people, to establish stability and development. Give and Take is what is all about….And we already gave too much.
So as a citizen in this country, conduct proper means of putting our tax money to good use. So that we are not over our heads in debt.
……is LESS Long Weekends.
If Erroryo is all about Holiday Economics and Long Weekends, PNoy is more about economizing Holidays (especially if a said holiday falls on a weekend). August 21, was just declared as a REGULAR HOLIDAY and August 23 is now a REGULAR WORKING DAY as stated today.
A lot of my friends YM’ed me, furious at the sudden change of dates. That PNoy should have implemented the change earlier, since they have already filed their leaves way way before. Some were looking forward to their long weekends, and now they are disheartened that there is nothing to look forward to.
Ok, let’s take this with a grain of salt.
So you guys filed your Vacation Leaves to your respective HR Officers, and that’s ok. They are Leaves nevertheless and are legal, and since it’s filed early, I suppose they are already approved by this time? So there is really nothing to worry about in your end. If you need a vacation, then go go sago nalang, holiday or no. And If it’s because it will minus the amount of days you have on your VL, well, then at this point, you might as well be more calculative and practical on how you want to ‘spend’ your holidays.
And really, I never understood the need to move the holidays to another date, just because it falls on a weekend or a weekday. If it’s about extending a holiday by means of a public celebration, by all means rejoice all you want. But seriously, I think it makes us idle, and more preoccupied with other frivolous matters besides the real issues (which is what I think is what ERRORyo intended.). Don’t you think?
Whatever day it falls, that’s it. And I agree that minimizing those Long Weekends is a small step to progress. A small step yes, but it can be one of those things that could be helpful in creating a more functional and progressive economy as well as a firm governance.
Mondays are ok. I just don’t like the fact that it signifies that weekend is over.
